The River Huggers are Portland's open water swimming ambassadors. With a River Hugger cap comes the responsibility to swim with safety best-practices in mind. Whenever you engage in open-water swimming, please be sure to always adhere to the following safety commitments:

• Swim with Buoy

• Wear a High-Visibility Cap

• Swim with a Safety Paddler

• Evaluate environmental conditions before entering the water

• Dress appropriately for the water temperature
